Privacy Policy
Version 2026-11-02.2. Last updated: November 2, 2026. This policy applies from the day SAI's website opens to the public.
The short version (the full policy below is what counts):
- SAI is in early access. Your conversations may be saved and reviewed by our team to make SAI better, including to evaluate and train SAI's own models. A private mode is coming; until then, don't share anything you want kept private.
- We never sell your personal information and never use your conversations for advertising.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- You can download a copy of your information or delete your account yourself in SAI (Settings > Data and privacy), or ask us at support@talktosai.com.

1. Who we are
SAI is operated by Universal Network Development LLC, doing business as U.N.D Industries ("UND," "we," "us," "our"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Florida, United States. We decide how the information described here is used. This policy covers SAI's website, web app, voice features and memberships. Our Terms of Service also apply.
2. What we collect
| Kind | What it is | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account and sign-in | If you sign in with Google or Apple: the account ID they give us, and your name and email if you allow it. If you sign in with email: your email address. Which membership your account has, which purchase it came from, and a dated record of every time you agreed to our Terms of Service and this policy (each sign-in and sign-up), of the purchase confirmation you ticked before paying, and of your optional choices. | You, Google or Apple |
| Profile | The name SAI greets you by, your username, what you told us you want help with (optional), and your optional choices (news emails, early feature invitations, being contacted about feedback), which are off unless you turn them on. If you fill in Settings > Personalization (what SAI calls you, what to know about you, how to answer), that too, and it is given to the AI with your messages so it can answer that way. You can change all of it in Settings. | You |
| Friends | If you use Friends (members only): who is on your list, the requests you sent or received, and who you blocked; invite codes you make (we keep only a scrambled copy, never the code itself); and the status and optional mood line you choose. Whether you have SAI open right now is known only for a few minutes, in memory, and is never saved: we keep no "last seen" time. Your friends see your username, name, status and mood; people with a pending request or who are blocked do not see your status, and "Appear offline" shows you as offline to everyone. | You |
| Messages and calls | If you message or call a friend (members only): the messages you send and receive, kept for you and for your friend (each of you has your own copy; deleting yours does not delete theirs), and a note of each call (voice or video, when, how long, and whether it was answered, declined or missed). Call audio and video go directly between your browser and your friend's and are not stored by SAI. A direct connection means your friend's browser can see your IP address, and yours theirs, as with most video calling. If a direct connection is not possible, the call is relayed through Cloudflare, encrypted, and is not stored. Your agreement to the calls rules is kept with the time, the words you agreed to, your IP address and your browser, as for every agreement (see Section 7). | You, your friends |
| Referrals | If you share or use a referral code: your code; which account entered which code and when; whether that account's first payment qualified, was kept, refunded or disputed; the reward given or taken back; and, to stop people referring themselves, a fingerprint of each card used to pay for SAI, which Stripe gives us (never the card number). The person who referred you sees only how many friends joined, never who. | You, Stripe |
| Recording consent | If anyone asks to record a call you are on: each request and each answer (who asked, who agreed or said no, when, and whether a recording was saved or thrown away), kept for both people as proof of consent, even if a conversation is later deleted. A recording is saved only on the device of the person who asked for it, never by SAI. | You, the other person |
| Reports | If you report someone: your username, theirs, the reason you chose and any words you add. It is sent to the SAI team to review. The person you report is not told who reported them. | You |
| Watermarks on calls | During a call, your own username is shown faintly over what you see, so that a recording of your screen shows whose screen it was. It is shown on your device only and is not stored. | SAI |
| Conversations | What you type or say to SAI and what SAI replies. During early access these may be saved and reviewed (see Section 3). If you send a message to another company's model, part of it is sent as Section 4 describes. If the chats saved on your device are lost (for example in a new browser), you can bring back the conversations SAI saved for you in Settings > Data and privacy; they are copied only to your own device. | You |
| Voice | If you use voice: the audio of what you say is sent to be turned into text, and SAI's reply text is turned into speech. We do not keep the audio. On a device that can, SAI's natural voice is made on the device itself: the reply text never leaves it, and the voice files it downloads once stay in your browser until you delete them (Settings > Data and privacy). | You |
| Proof of agreements and purchases | Each time you agree to our terms or tick the box before paying: the date and time, the IP address and the browser or device you used, the page you were on, the exact words of the box you ticked, and a fingerprint (a checksum) of each document version you agreed to. When you pay: the amount, the payment method, and what Stripe tells us to confirm it was you: the card brand, its last 4 digits and country, Stripe's card fingerprint, whether the security code, ZIP code and your bank's check (3D Secure) passed, Stripe's fraud-risk level, the name on the payment, and the receipt and charge numbers. We never receive or keep your full card number or security code. | You, your device and Stripe |
| Membership and payment | Your email, the plan you chose, the amount, dates, and the payment status. The name and billing address you give Stripe are kept by Stripe. We never receive your full card number. | You and Stripe |
| Usage and safety | How much you used in your current 5-hour session and 7-day week (messages, voice replies and recordings turned into text, and their estimated cost), your share of SAI's capacity today, and a record when a message is blocked by our safety checks (the category). | Created as you use SAI |
| Technical | Your IP address and the requests your browser makes, which Cloudflare handles to deliver and protect SAI. For sign-in protection we keep only a scrambled version of your IP address, for at most one day. | Your device |
| Reminders | When you ask SAI to remind you of something (for example "remind me tomorrow at 9 AM to call the bank"): the words you asked to be reminded of, encrypted where we store them; the day and time, and your time zone; when you set it; and whether it was sent and how (a notification, an email). The notification on your lock screen shows the words only if you allow words in alerts; the email to your account address includes them, because you asked for the reminder. | You |
| Notes SAI keeps | Only if you turn notes on (Settings > Personalization, or Yes on the card SAI shows the first time): up to 12 short facts you asked SAI to remember across chats ("remember that ..."), kept with your Personalization settings. Notes go with your messages to SAI's main brain (Anthropic's Claude Haiku, see section 4) so SAI remembers them; they are not sent to a model you pick in the model menu. You can see and delete each one. | You |
| Profile picture | Only if you add one (Settings > Account): one square picture. Your device redraws it before it is sent, so nothing hidden in the original file (such as where a photo was taken) is kept. It is stored privately and shown only to you and your friends, in Messages, Workspace rooms and calls; it is never sent to SAI's brain or any AI model. Remove it any time in Settings. | You |
| Notifications | If you turn notifications on for a device (members only): that device's push address (a web address your browser's push service gives it, from Google, Mozilla, Microsoft or Apple) and when you added it; your alert settings (which alerts you want, quiet hours and your time zone, favorites and muted friends); and alerts waiting for your devices (who called or wrote and the kind of call, and the words of a message only if you chose to see them in alerts). Your ringtones, volume and vibration stay in your browser. A device gets notifications for one account only: the account signed in on it now. | You |
| SAI in a call | If someone in a call adds SAI and everyone in the call allows it, SAI hears the call until it is removed or the call ends, and answers when someone says its name. What SAI hears is handled like a conversation with SAI for the person who added it. We keep a note in both chats that SAI was asked, allowed, not allowed, or left. Nothing of the call's sound is stored. | You, the people in the call |
| Workspace rooms | When you start or join a room (members only, with friends): the room's name, who is in it and who was invited; the messages written in the room chat; the project's files and their history (each change: which file, who made it or whose SAI made it, who applied it, when, and the text before and after, so a change can be undone); the changes SAI proposes until someone applies or discards them; and the room's SAI work area: what each member asks their own SAI there and what it answers. Only people in the room can see it; the SAI team sees it only as this policy describes (reports, messages our safety checks flag, security and legal requests). When you ask your SAI in a room, your request and the files it needs are handled like any message to SAI (the same safety checks on what you ask and on what SAI answers, counted in your usage) but are not saved into your own conversations; only a message our safety checks flag is kept, as for every message. Your SAI uses none of your private notes or settings in a room. If you report a message, it goes to the SAI team with the reason you chose; the person is not told who reported it. Calls in a room (voice, video and screen sharing with the people in it) go straight between your browsers, like calls between friends; SAI passes only the messages that connect you, keeps only who is in the room's call while it lasts, and never records or stores the call. | You, the people in the room |
| Pictures you ask SAI to make | What you ask for is checked by SAI's safety check, then sent to Cloudflare's AI service (the same one that runs SAI's own model) to make the picture. The picture comes back to you and is kept only in your Library on your own device. We keep a count of how many pictures you made this month and today, to apply your plan's limits; we do not keep the picture or your request. | You |
| Files in Messages | If you send a file to a friend (members only, when this is switched on): the file, its name, type and size, kept in private storage that only you and that friend can open. Deleting your account deletes the files you sent; your friend keeps the message that a file was sent. | You |
| Credits | When you earn or use SAI credits (for staying active, sending feedback, check-ins, or with a plan): a record of each change, with the amount, the reason and the time. Credits have no cash value. | Created as you use SAI |
| Connected accounts and your own tools | If you connect an account of yours (for example UND Assay) or make a SAI key for your own tools: which account you connected and when, the key that account gave SAI (kept encrypted), and for each SAI key its name, when it was made and last used, and a fingerprint of it (the key itself is shown to you once and never kept). Section 4 says what happens when SAI uses them. | You |
| Problem reports | Only if you turn them on (a one-time question, or Settings > Data and privacy): when something on the page breaks, the error message (email addresses removed), the script file and line, and the page; after each call, how it went: whether it connected, how long, whether it went through our relay, how it ended, reconnects, and sound quality numbers (lost sound packets, delay, seconds of silence, microphone pauses); in live talk, each time SAI speaks, how loud SAI's own voice came back through your microphone, how loud you were, and whether SAI stopped when you talked (sound levels only). Also your browser type, your system and whether it is a phone. Never your words, audio, video, contacts or device names. Kept 30 days, linked to your account only by a scrambled reference. | Your device |
| Messages to us | Anything you send to our support or other email addresses, and any report you send from inside SAI with Report a problem or Report this reply: what you wrote, your username and the email on your account (so we can reply), the page you were on, and the reply you reported if you reported one. | You |
Please do not put passwords, card numbers, government ID numbers, health details or other sensitive information into SAI.
3. How we use it
- To run SAI: sign you in, activate your membership, answer your messages, speak and hear in voice mode, keep your usage limits, keep long conversations going by compressing their older part into short notes, and give each new chat a short name from its first message.
- To keep SAI safe: check messages and replies automatically for harmful content, prevent abuse and fraud, protect sign-in, and enforce our Terms.
- To make SAI better (early access): our team may read saved conversations and use them to find mistakes, improve answers, and evaluate and train SAI's own models. We do not let other companies train their models on your conversations.
- To handle memberships: take payment through Stripe, add the membership to your account, email you receipts, and answer billing questions.
- To talk with you: send messages you need about your account, membership, safety, and changes to our terms or this policy. We will not send you marketing emails unless you choose to receive them. If you join the free-tier waitlist, we keep that choice with your account and email you once when free access opens.
- To follow the law: meet legal, tax and accounting duties, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights and the safety of others.
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
4. Who helps us run SAI
We share information only with companies that help us run SAI, only as needed for what they do for us, and under their own privacy terms:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, your messages between friends and their live delivery, the relay for calls that cannot connect directly, and the AI models that power SAI's replies, safety checks, hearing and voice. Your messages and audio are processed on Cloudflare's network to produce replies; some voice models are provided to Cloudflare by its partners.
- Supabase: our database. Your account, your membership, your saved conversations and the other records this policy describes are stored with Supabase, in the United States (North Virginia).
- Stripe: payments. Stripe collects and keeps your payment details.
- Your browser's push service (Google, Mozilla, Microsoft or Apple, depending on your browser): only if you turn notifications on. SAI sends it an empty wake-up for your device, with no name and no words; your device then asks SAI what happened.
- Resend: sends our emails, such as sign-in codes, receipts and the reminders you ask for.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them. Google also serves the fonts our pages use, so your browser asks Google for those files.
- Web search (only while Plugins > Web search is on for you): for a question about now (news, prices, the latest versions), Anthropic's Claude may search the web. The search words it writes go to Anthropic's web search service; they are written from your message after passwords and keys, card and other long numbers, bank account and ID numbers, crypto wallet addresses and IP addresses are replaced, and the pages used are listed under the answer. Each search counts toward your usage.
- Anthropic (Claude models): Anthropic's Claude Haiku is SAI's main brain: it writes SAI's replies to your messages, including personal ones (for example about your health, money or relationships). So that SAI knows who it is talking to and what you already said, it receives SAI's instructions, your Personalization (what you asked SAI to call you, what you told it about yourself, your project's instructions and the notes you asked SAI to keep), the date and time where you are, SAI's notes on your conversation, and the messages SAI is sent with your newest one. Before anything is sent, passwords and keys, card and other long numbers, bank account and ID numbers, crypto wallet addresses and IP addresses are replaced with placeholders, and put back in the reply you see. If you choose to keep everything with SAI, nothing you write is sent to Anthropic and SAI's own model, on Cloudflare, answers instead; SAI's own model also answers when Anthropic is unavailable, and where Anthropic does not offer its service (it serves only the countries and regions on its supported list); there, Claude models are not offered. Anthropic also answers when you choose one of its models in the model menu, or when Auto chooses it. Google (Gemini models): only for a message you send to one of its models, because you chose it in the model menu or Auto chose it. For a message sent to a model you or Auto chose (Anthropic or Google), SAI keeps its own instructions, your Personalization, SAI's notes on your conversation and your profile on our side, and replaces details such as your name, email addresses, phone numbers, card and ID numbers, street addresses and links with placeholders. What is sent is your newest message and a few messages before it, with those details replaced. The answer comes back to us, the details are put back, and SAI writes the reply you see. Replacing details removes identifiers; it cannot make every message anonymous, because what a message is about can still identify a person. Auto never sends a message about your health, money, relationships, legal matters or identity, or one that contains such details; you can still choose a model yourself. Under their terms for businesses, Anthropic does not train its models on what we send, and we use Google's models only on Google's paid service, under which Google does not use what we send to improve its products. Each keeps what we send for a limited time under its own terms (Anthropic: generally 30 days).
- Accounts you connect: if you connect your UND Assay account (Plugins > Your connections), you sign in on UND Assay's own site and SAI receives a key for your account. SAI keeps that key encrypted, uses it only to look things up in Assay for you, and deletes it when you disconnect or delete your SAI account. When SAI looks something up, your question (with names and contact details replaced) and your Assay key go to Anthropic, whose Claude model asks Assay for you; Assay records the lookups under your Assay account. UND Assay is run by the same company as SAI and has its own Privacy Policy. SAI never uses an account you connected inside a Workspace room.
- Your own tools: if you make a SAI key (Plugins > Use SAI elsewhere), a tool you add it to can send messages to SAI as you. Those messages are handled exactly like messages you type here: the same plan, usage, safety checks and saving rules. SAI stops a key the moment you revoke it.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people's safety, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business (the new owner would have to respect this policy). We will update this policy before we add a new kind of service that receives your personal information.
5. On your device (cookies and storage)
SAI stores a few things in your browser so it works, and nothing for advertising or cross-site tracking:
- your sign-in, in a secure cookie that the page's own scripts cannot read (so a harmful script could not steal it), so you stay signed in;
- your settings: theme, chosen voice and microphone, whether SAI speaks replies aloud, and the mode and model you picked in the message box;
- your answer to our cookie notice;
- your chats (their messages, SAI's notes on them, their names, pins and projects), locked with a key that only your signed-in account can open, so another person using this browser cannot read them after you sign out. They stay until you delete them, or until your plan's chat storage is full, when the oldest chats that are not pinned are removed from the device first and SAI tells you;
- SAI's short notes or recap from your last conversation, for up to 30 days, so you can pick up where you left off. "New chat", "Start fresh" or signing out removes them;
- for a short time, the ids of chats you deleted whose saved copy SAI could not delete yet (for example while offline), so it can finish deleting them;
- for a moment, the first message you typed before signing in and the hand-off from Google or Apple sign-in;
- until you close the tab, a note that your visit from one of our own links was already counted (below).
When you arrive from a link we posted ourselves (it ends in ?from= and a name such as linkedin), your browser tells SAI that name once. We count how many visits each of our links brought each day, and nothing else: not who you are, not your address, and no cookie.
Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect SAI from attacks. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Signing out removes what SAI stored in your browser except your locked chats, which stay unreadable until you sign in again; clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything, including your chats.
6. Do Not Track and tracking by others
SAI does not track you across other websites, so it treats every visitor the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal. We do not allow advertising networks or other third parties to collect information about your activity on SAI over time and across websites. Google receives the standard technical details of your browser's requests when it loads our fonts or its sign-in button, and Apple does the same for its sign-in button.
No calls or texts, and no voiceprints. SAI contacts you only by email. We never call you or send you text messages. When you talk to SAI, your voice is turned into text to answer you and the audio is not kept; we do not create a voiceprint or use your voice to identify you.
7. How long we keep it
- Saved conversations: up to 12 months, then deleted or changed so they no longer identify you.
- Account and membership: while your account is active, then for as long as tax, accounting and legal duties require.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires. Stripe keeps its own records under its policy.
- Messages and call notes: up to the most recent 1,000 per friend, until you ask us to delete them or your account is deleted (section 9); your friend's copy stays with them. Referral records: while either account exists; after an account is deleted, only what proves a discount or reward that was given (with no name or email), and card fingerprints until the account they paid for is deleted. Recording-consent records and reports: while either account exists and for as long as needed to handle a dispute, a report or a legal request. Call audio and video are never stored.
- Friends: your list, requests and blocks until you remove them or delete your account; invite codes until they are used or expire (7 days), and their record until you delete your account; your status and mood until you change them or delete your account. Whether you are online is never stored.
- Proof of agreements and purchases: while your account exists, and after that for as long as the law lets us keep proof of what was agreed and paid (for purchases, at least 7 years, for tax and accounting records). It is used only to prove agreements and payments, to prevent fraud, and to answer disputes and chargebacks, and only UND can see it.
- Usage counts: for each session (5 hours) and each week (7 days), deleted within about a day after that period ends; today's counts for everyone together, deleted after each day (UTC).
- Notifications: a device's push address until you turn notifications off on it, its push service says it no longer works, or you delete your account; alerts waiting for your devices until they are no longer useful (a ringing call within about a minute, a message within 6 hours, a missed call within a day); your alert settings until you change them or delete your account.
- Sign-in protection records: deleted after each day (UTC).
- Reminders: until the reminder is sent and 7 days after, or until you delete it (Settings > Reminders); at most 50 waiting, and at most a year ahead. They are in your data download and deleted with your account.
- Notes SAI keeps: until you delete them (say "forget ..." or delete them in Settings > Personalization) or delete your account. They are in your data download.
- Workspace rooms: kept as long as the room exists: the room chat up to its newest 2,000 messages, the SAI work area up to its newest 400 entries, the change history up to its newest 500 changes (the oldest go first). Ending a room deletes everything in it (messages, files, history, proposed changes and the SAI work area). Leaving a room, or being removed, ends your access at once; what you wrote stays for the others. Deleting your account deletes your messages, your SAI work-area entries and your open proposed changes from every room, and ends the rooms you started; code you changed in someone else's room stays (others built on it) but no longer names you ("A former member"). Deleted data can remain in the encrypted nightly backups for as long as the backups line below says.
- Pictures: on your device until you delete them; the counts we keep reset each month.
- Problem reports: 30 days. Files in Messages: until the sender deletes their account. Profile picture: until you remove it or delete your account. Credit records: while your account exists. Connection keys: until you disconnect or delete your account; SAI keys: until you revoke them or delete your account.
- Safety records of messages our safety checks blocked, and of messages whose reply was blocked: up to 12 months, to find repeated abuse and to meet the law. Deleting a chat does not delete them.
- Your agreements: a record of each version of these terms and of the Terms of Service you agreed to, and when, is kept for as long as your account exists and afterwards for as long as the law allows us to keep proof of what was agreed. Every earlier version of these documents stays published on our legal page.
- Backups: every night we copy SAI's database to private, encrypted storage, so that if something fails we can restore SAI from the last nightly copy (changes made since that copy can be lost). Each copy is kept for 14 days and used only to restore SAI. Anything you delete leaves the backups within 14 days.
We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.
8. Security and breaches
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), signed sign-in sessions, scrambled IP addresses, strict security settings on every page, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that your information will never be accessed without permission. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you without unreasonable delay and within the time the law requires (for Florida residents, no later than 30 days).
9. Your choices and rights
- Get a copy or delete your account yourself: in SAI, Settings > Data and privacy > Download all my data gives you a file with everything SAI's database keeps about your account, any time. Delete my account (you type DELETE, and you must have signed in within the last 15 minutes) stops any monthly payment, signs you out everywhere and deletes your profile, saved conversations (except safety records), friends, invite codes, messages and call notes, referral code and card fingerprints, your messages in Workspace rooms (the rooms you started end), your connected accounts and SAI keys, and your credits. We keep only the record of your agreements and payments and the membership they belong to (section 7), with your email and name removed from the account. We email you once to confirm.
- Access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your information: email support@talktosai.com with the subject "Data request" from the email on your account (or tell us how you sign in). We may need to confirm it is you, and we will respond within the time the law where you live requires.
- Delete your saved conversations: delete a chat in SAI (or every chat, in Settings > Data and privacy) and we delete our saved copy of it too, except safety records (section 7). You can also ask us at the same address. Archiving a chat only hides it on your device; it deletes nothing.
- Stop using SAI at any time, and turn off renewal or cancel a membership online in SAI under Settings > Plan and billing (or by emailing billing@talktosai.com).
- Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have more rights, such as knowing what we collect and not being treated differently for using your rights. We honor them as the law requires. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of there.
Some information we must keep for legal, tax, safety or fraud-prevention reasons, even if you ask us to delete it.
10. Safety and the law
Every message you send to SAI and every reply SAI writes is checked automatically by safety models. When someone tells SAI they are thinking about hurting themselves, SAI points them to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. A message that appears to involve the sexual exploitation of a child is refused, the account is paused at once, and our team is alerted. We respond to valid legal requests from authorities.
11. Children
SAI is only for people 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used SAI, tell us at support@talktosai.com and we will delete their information.
12. Where your data is processed
We are in the United States. The companies that help us run SAI may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws from yours. By using SAI you understand your information will be processed there.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date, and for important changes, including any new use of your conversations, we will tell you in SAI or by email before the change applies to information we already have.
14. Contact
